Fields of interest :
The main objectives of the team are to develop :
1) The molecular biology tools to study enteropathogens
- molecular characterization of the enteropathogens isolated in humans, animals, foods and environment.
- molecular characterization of the genes implied in the antibiotic resistances in bacteria.
" PCR for characterization of plasmids.
" Integrons and transposons.
" Gene sequencing.
" Pulsed field gel electrophoresis.
" PCR characterization of virulence factors in vibrio.
- Enteropathogens studied
" BLSE Salmonella isolated in hospitals.
" Antibiotic resistant Salmonella typhi.
" Vibrio cholerae O serotypes (O1 and non O1 - non 0139) isolated in humans and in the environment.
" Salmonella isolated in foods.
" Salmonella isolated in animals.
" Salmonella isolated in humans after food contamination.
