Pages/Slides preparation
Prepare pages/slides in Microsoft Power Point (.pps/.ppt) format.
hints:
-
The information on each page/slide should be clear, notes can be used to better explain the concept. In the notes clarify the abbreviations used in the page/slide.
-
External hyperlinks can be included.
-
The total lines on a slide should not exceed 10. Please use few colors and blue background are preferred.
-
Preferred fonts include: Verdana, Times, Arial, Helvetica.
-
Use conversational language and review for grammatical errors.
- Give the presentation file a short but clear name. Use the "description" and "additional notes" fields in the sending form to include any additional information.
-
Please when sending the email to us, provide a clear abstract for your lecture, which will be used as a presentation page for it.
IMPORTANT: Please take care to compress images to a reasonable format. High-definition pictures are fancy and beautiful, but become very heavy to download via the internet, and many of our users are not broadband connected. The most effective practice in this case is to use the "Compress images" function within Microsoft PowerPoint. --> From the image toolbar, clic "compress images", select "Apply to -> All images in document"; "Change resolution -> Web/Screen" and flag the options below. This will often reduce presentation size down by more than 60%.
As your lecture is ready and correctly formatted, email it to lectures@oloep.org.
