About this site
This site is designed mainly to promote learning in developing countries.
We have created a growing global network aimed at allowing the sharing of knowledge from different countries and different fields to create a comprehensive, and freely available, teaching aid for enteric infections. All teaching resources are available online, are continuously updated and new users can join easily.
Currently the project is restricted to enteric diseases because there are many recent advances in the diagnosis, treatment, pathogenicity and evolutionary genetics of the causal agents which are a major threat to health in developing countries.
On the other side, the Public Health authorities both in the developing and in the industrialised countries are facing a rising number of food security related problems. A cooperative approach to knowledge and the globalisation of learning represents the only future for the fight against this globalisation of enteric infections.
